Following on from yesterday’s bluetit house hunters I saw this kestrel settling in to an owl nesting box at Attenborough this morning. Kestrels have successfully nested here for several years. This view is from the Tower hide. It flew in front of the hide to give us a better view.
Also visible from the Tower hide was this oyster catcher. I doubt if he (or she) was finding many oysters but a good poke around in the flooded grass was clearly paying dividends. Three oyster catchers have been reported on the reserve recently.
Had a close up view of a group of teal towards the end of my walk. This is one of the males. Exquisite!
