On my amble this afternoon I was delighted to see my first mallard ducklings of the year. These are two of the brood of about eight being lead through the grass by Mum.
The light was fading towards the end of my walk but I couldn’t resist taking a close-up of this female gadwall. I’m getting quite a collection of ducks looking over their left shoulder!
Finally, a group of four male and one female red crested pochard came by. Hopefully they will breed again this year at Attenborough.
