It was a pleasure to take a walk around my favourite nature reserve on a warm afternoon today. This pair of great crested grebe did a little bit of mating display with lots of head wagging which shows off their magnificent crests.
I had good sightings of a little egret perched in a tree and a kestrel on top of nest box but the one I would like to share is this long tailed tit in a frame of pussy willows. It’s difficult to get a sharp image of these active birds so I was pleased with this.
That is a superb shot of the long tailed tit, Raymond. They are, as you say, very busy birds. They can work through my back garden in less than 5 minutes, constantly on the go. To capture an image so sharp is difficult. I was telling my brother-in-law about your blog and he says he used to work with you. His name is David Morris. Has he contacted you yet ? John Birch.

Thanks for your feedback. It is a small world! I do remember Dave and I see him from time to time as we live about a mile apart. Feel free to tell him about the blog. Raymond

I seem to have missed it. I sent it to the BBC. They must have taken it off the blog?

With the help of several friends I have managed to locate the broadcast. It was in the late evening BBC local news.
