Little Ringed Plover at Attenborough

There was not a lot about this afternoon at Attenborough. Perhaps the birds were keeping their heads down as it was quite windy. Someone pointed out a little gull and I saw my first sand martin of the year. A small bird caught my eye in an area of broad ridges and furrows. It was a little ringed plover. The most distinctive feature is the yellow eye ring – missing in the ringed plover.
