Well, not really. The less common spot on my visit to Old Moor (near Barnsley) today was a GREEN sandpiper. I have no idea why it is called ‘green’ but this one decided to come quite close to the hide so I was able to get some reasonable shots – this one complete with reflection.
Saw a distant view of a flying bittern but not the little bittern that was reported. Other waders I saw included a black tailed godwit and a group of four redshank – I’ve included one of these even though it is not new to the blog – again with reflection.
