Since the beginning of August our garden has been full of babies. Here are a few examples – all taken today (Sunday 9th).
This is one of four juvenile blackbirds that have been feasting on our fallen apples. He is beginning to get black feathers from the tail end so he is male. This is a popular sunbathing spot.
This is a favourite spot for dunnocks – this looks like a juvenile.
You can see the red breast coming through in this juvenile robin.
We were visited by a greater spotted woodpecker this morning but he (or she) was a bit camera shy.
I’ve been wondering what birds I saw – Young blackbirds!
