This jay alighted on our apple tree this morning and then flew onto the fence. I managed a number of shots but this the sharpest one despite being a little bit obscured by the cotoneaster. It was a nice birthday present for me!
To add to the garden visitors so far this year we have seen a grey wagtail (no doubt attracted by the pond on our flat roof), a black headed gull swooping down for scraps on the lawn and a collared dove. On a walk by the river last week we also saw a brambling among other birds feasting on some ivy berries.
