I was pleased to see these two reed buntings on my walk this morning. They were in the reeds alongside a pond created as part of the tramway construction near Toton.
The male is on the left.
Sitting in the garden with my afternoon cuppa I spied a black-cap flitting among the trees.
It is a bit obscured but the black cap tells me this is a male. The female has a rust coloured cap. This is the first one I have seen in the garden for a long time.
