Seeing Double

These are some of my wildlife encounters down ANR this morning (29/04)

These robins look a lot more pally than they in fact are. I was photographing the one in the foreground and pressed the shutter a split second before the other came and shooed it off the perch.

I was pleased to get a clear shot of a white-throat.

This is the closest view I have had of a common sandpiper. It was pottering up and down the shoreline in front of the Sand Martin Hide.

Between taking numerous shots of the sandpiper I noticed some of the sand martins were landing on the shingle. I think this one is a juvenile. Note the ring on its leg.

There were numerous goslings around (Greylag & Canada) and some mallard ducklings. A grasshopper warbler was causing some excitement but I couldn’t spot it.
