On my trip around Nottingham University park on the last evening of July I was concentrating on a group of Egyptian geese including some tiny gosling when I glanced down to see a group of what looked like mandarin ducks, probably immature females. This is one of the shots I managed of all three. The giveaway is the white eye ring and adjoining streak.
Later I managed this shot of a cormorant nicely illuminated in the evening sunlight.
PS Wednesday 02/03 saw this bluetit on a red hot poker flower in the garden.
