This is one of two chicks born to a pair of tawny owls that have taken advantage of a nest box installed by my neighbour in his garden. You can see some adult feathers beginning to show through its fluffy down. One of the parents was perched higher up the tree keeping close watch on it – and me. I hope to get more shots as they develop – possibly both chicks at the same time.
