Jay in Wollaton Park – Nottingham

Saw this in the rhododendrons by the lake if you are familiar with this location. It looks to me as if it has a froglet in its beak which makes me think it might be feeding young. There may have been two but I didn’t get a clear enough view to be certain.

I have never seen a Jay before. Is this a female?

As far as I know male and female look alike. I have often seen them in Wollaton Park – and even from time to time in the garden.
