Coping with the Weather

The very welcome heavy rain showers tempted our resident frog onto the parched lawn this morning. You can see some of the duckweed from the pond clinging to its body.

We decided to take a walk around Wollaton Park this morning and saw this group of red deer stags sheltering from the sun behind the park bench we chose for our coffee break. I think the one on the right had just remembered a joke.

There wasn’t a lot of bird life on view but we were pleased to see a female mandarin duck with two ducklings. The eye stripe typical of this species is clearly visible.
