A little bit of Yorkshire Wildlife

We spent the first weekend of August in apartment overlooking the River Aire which gave us good views of a kingfisher and numerous grey wagtails as well as the usual ducks and geese etc. We took the opportunity to visit a nature reserve featured on BBC Springwatch, RSPB Fairburn Ings. The most notable spot was a young cuckoo perched  in the reeds waiting to be fed by its (presumably) reed warbler surrogate parent. Here is a selection including a alien creature on a wall in Saltaire (a delightful place to visit by the way.)
