On my walk around ANR this morning, the air heavy with the scent of May blossom, I saw my first swifts of the season and managed a better shot of a whitethroat – among many sightings. Next on the warbler list is a sedge warbler. It has a call like a comb being drawn across the edge of a card. The growth of leaves on the trees gives the little birds more hiding places that’s why I was pleased to see a whitethroat perched on a dead elderberry branch.
