As it was such a lovely day I spent the morning at Attenborough Nature Reserve where I had good views of Tree Sparrows, a Goldeneye and a Buzzard, However the icing on the cake was a second, but much closer view of the rare Slavonian Grebe that has been around the reserve for the last couple of weeks. As with the Great Crested Grebe its winter plumage is pretty much monochrome but there is a touch of colour in the eye.

Today’s other spots included- Buzzard, Reed Bunting, Tree Sparrow and Goldeneye
