Because of the current fantastic weather conditions I am gathering lot of material for the blog so I will be posting items quite frequently but in bite sized chunks.
Just as I was entering the reserve at Attenborough on my visit yesterday I saw this kestrel perched on a power line pole in the field over the railway line where horses are kept.

Later, on my way out of the reserve, I saw this buzzard sitting on a fence post. in the same horse field. It flew down from time to time to dig around in the many mole hills for worms. The wood pigeons also foraging in the grass seemed completely unperturbed by this large raptor in their midst. To see two birds of prey so clearly in the same location separated only by about an hour or so was a rare and unexpected piece of luck.
Lovely pic! Xx
