Some spots from a repeat visit to Attenborough on Monday 22nd March.
This pair of gadwall was quite close to the path enabling me to get a clear shot. From a distance the male (above) looks grey with a black rear end but closer examination reveals an intricate pattern of dark and light feathers.
As you would expect at this time of year pairing up is in full swing as shown by this pair of Egyptian geese taking a stroll together.
I was pleased to see the tree creeper that I saw on Saturday (20th) still busily nest building. I tried to take a video shot but with only limited success. It is not one to hang around so I only managed a brief clip.
Finally, before I went out I checked on the NTU peregrines. Initially the eggs were being brooded, presumably, by the female bird but as I watched she decided to get up and take a bit of exercise before flying of in search of breakfast.
