The bright sunshine offered perfect conditions yesterday for observing bird life in the garden. I cleaned out the birdbath, checked the feeders and scattered some wool fleece among the shrubs and settled down to see what turned up.
Several birds came for a drink and a dip including this bluetit. Sorry for the wobbly image. There wasn’t enough time to put the camera on the tripod.
Jackdaws are becoming less shy and now visit the garden for nesting material, food scraps left on the lawn and in this case to quench their thirst.
This cotoneaster shrub is only a couple of metres from my seat so I was able to get some good close-up views of this bluetit foraging for insects and gathering nest material. Click on an image for an enlarged view.
