It is nice to see this more delicate member of the pigeon/dove family instead of the usual hungry hoards of feral and wood pigeons. Collared doves are native to Europe and Asia but have been introduced to North America, Caribbean Islands and Japan.
The male great spotted woodpecker seems to like our sunflower hearts. The green woodpecker also paid us a visit but it was gone before I could aim the camera at it. Better luck next time.
The corvids are often in the garden. The jackdaw (left) seems to be daring anyone to pinch the beakful of kitchen scraps it’s gathered from the lawn.
The feeding station continues to attract a variety of birds including a growing number of young starlings (bottom right) and the usual crop of more colourful smaller birds.
