

One of two female goldeneye on the open water and a couple of teal with a lapwing sunning themselves in a corner of the Church Pond.


Snipe at the edge of the nearby reedbed. Another birder saw as many as 9. This is a favourite spot for these plump waders.


Not the best images but a rather special spot, my first reasonable sighting of a kingfisher so far in 2021. I’m pretty sure it is a male. The female has orange ‘lipstick’ on the lower bill. 😎
